Since drumming is a personal hobby and a really a great tool to bring community together, we combined a book reading with drumming, at READ WITH ME in Raleigh, NC. My good friend Cindy Jones (drumming teacher extraordinaire) brought many drums and percussion instruments to the reading event in downtown Raleigh. It was a thrilling event, as children accompanied my reading, with their percussion noises of choice, matching the cadence of the book words and the feeling or emotions that come from each page. Some kids even took their socks off and had them dancing along with the music.
Truly a blessing and unique time.
